This Patrol IR from FLIR is a stationary-mount thermal imaging camera with a 360° viewing capability, and a 35° horizontal field of view.  Thermal imagers can see through obscurants and total darkness; where other viewing systems fail, thermal imaging delivers the ability to see and record what is invisible to the human eye.  Unlike ubiquitous light intensifying systems, thermal imagers read heat at the molecular level to produce vivid high-contrast images, even when hidden by fog, smoke, steam, or total darkness conditions.
